In Hand Ground Work (horses can be worked in either a halter or a bridle, D ring, or full cheek snaffle are proferred)
*Improving control of the haunches/turn on the forehand.
*Establishing a solid go forward que, an excersice that is used for teaching water crossing, trailer loading, as well as getting more consistent movement for the not so forward thinking equines.
*Improving shoulder control to help achieve better lateral movement.
12:00 – 1:00 p.m Lunch Break (lunch and beverages will be provided)
1:00 – 2:30 p.m
Under saddle work
We’ll begin by working on the exercises that we did on the ground, under saddle.
Moving the haunches away from leg pressure
Getting the horse more responsive to a go forward que
Shoulder control and lateral work
We will then use these exercises to work on various trail obstacles (bridge/mailbox/sidepassing ground rails, logs)
